Researching family histories is the goal of
this society. The Laclede County Genealogical Society was formed in 1989
to assist people in researching their family histories. We are located in
the Courthouse Annex at the corner of Adams and Second Streets.
We have a variety of
books for sale such as indexes of marriages, deeds, tax records, etc. Our
members obtained the information from the original sources and put it into
book form. We sell these books to obtain money for the operation of our
society. A list of these books is available at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~molacled .Our website also contains other
important details about our society.
We meet on the first Tuesday of each
month at 7:00 P.M. Our library is open each Thursday from 1:00-5:00 P.M.
Our society conducts monthly trips to libraries throughout the state for
research and to help new members learn to find their family histories. Our
meetings are open to the public, and we are very eager for new members.
